Wish You Could Conceive A Girl?

By Kathy Forcey

We know that you love the baby boy you conceived, but you've had no luck with girls and you are still wanting to have a little princess in your life. If this is your case, then you're probably looking into the ways on how to conceive a girl. Is it even possible to increase the chances of having a female? The short answer is that yes, many couples are using certain techniques to successfully conceive baby girls.

How to conceive a girl can be accomplished by using either the natural process or you could go the clinical process. Clinical procedures will certainly carry a higher success rate for conceiving a girl, but it is still not a 100% guarantee. That is nearly impossible without some invasive and costly procedures that may present emotional issues for many folks.

Did you know that men are the ones who determine the sex of the baby? If you remember from your high school biology classes, it's the X or Y chromosomes in the sperm that ultimately dictate whether a male or female will develop from the fertilized egg. Remember also, that eggs contain only the X chromosome, so if it's a X sperm that fertilizes the egg, you'll have a baby girl.

What many people may not be aware of is the lifespan of sperm once it leaves the male's body. Sperm can live up to 5 to 7 days inside the female body depending on the reproductive environment, such as whether she is ovulating and cervical mucus conditions, etc.

While there is a fifty percent chance of having a boy or girl, did you know that the female sperm has a longer lifespan than that of the male sperm and thus may be the key to how to conceive a girl? X sperm not only live longer but swim more slowly than the weaker and faster Y sperm.

Take note of your ovulation cycle. You will need to know when you are ready to ovulate. If you have sex right before you ovulate and then abstain, you will increase the likelihood of conceiving a girl. Therefore, the timing of sexual intercourse is extremely important. The theory behind this is that since the X sperm will outlive the Y sperm, there will be more X sperm present in the female reproductive tract when the egg is released and ready for fertilization.

Your chances of having a baby girl can be increased if you understand how to conceive a girl using natural methods. There is probably no way short of clinical intervention that you'll be assured of a gender specific pregnancy. Even then you are only increasing the odds incrementally, but at a higher cost. - 30214
