Where To Find Reliable Orlando Airport Transportation

By John Murray

Taking the family to see the big mouse this year? If you're headed to the US capital of theme parks, you will need some Orlando airport transportation. Orlando is a great town and you're guaranteed to have a blast with the family or special someone while you're in town. It's hard not to have fun in Orlando even if you're on a business trip.

If you just need basic, minimal transportation, there are plenty of shuttle buses and van services that will come pick you up at the airport once you've gotten off of your plane and gotten your bags. While it's always best to call and schedule a pick up in advance, there are some van services that literally wait around the airport, looking for someone who hasn't made alternate transportation. Beware, these services may charge more than others.

If you're in the mood to drive around and explore a lot while you're in the Orlando, your best bet is to rent a car. Keep in mind, however, that you're going to have to pay all sorts of extra fees since you'll be picking your rental car up at an airport-and not just any airport, the airport in the biggest tourist destination in the continental United States. You're going to be responsible for paying for gas, too. There are very high prices at the gas stations in Orlando. There are no cheap gas stations there, I know this from experience.

Once you get to where you're going for the day, you'll end up paying for parking which can be really expensive depending on which theme park you're headed to. We won't even get into the traffic just trying to get in and out of the parks each day.

Prices for these services are actually quite reasonable. There are so many people who visit the city each year and there is such a high demand for these services that the companies who provide these services keep their rates low so that competition does not weed them out.

The hotels in the area all have van service but unfortunately, most van service will only take you within five to ten miles of the hotel and usually, chances are good that your hotel will be outside of that radius. Plus you could be standing around for up to an hour for your hotel shuttle driver to show up. When you get to Orlando, you'll be doing plenty of waiting in lines at theme parks; don't start your journey on the wrong foot.

You can also pay a town car to come and pick you up to your final stop. A town car can be rented by the hour and just like renting a limo, a driver will appear in the baggage area to pick you up. Typically they hold up a sign with your last name or group name and wait for you to enter the claim area. They will then wait with you and assist you in retrieving your luggage and put it in the car for you. Again, if you can afford the service, it's quite nice to arrive in style.

You can also find many shuttle services that will pick you up from the Orlando airport and deposit you wherever you wish. They typically charge a flat rate for the area and this is normally the most economical way to go when you're looking for Orlando airport transportation. - 30214
